Our Occupational Therapist

Tracey Urquhart

Registered Occupational Therapist

Tracey has over thirty years of experience as an occupational therapist working in the community. She has provided OT services for clients in their homes and schools for a vast range of needs.

Her expertise includes helping individuals with ASD, ADHD and ARFID. She is passionate about assisting those with picky eating and sensory processing issues and aims to help families understand the complex relationship between the mind, senses and eating concerns.

Her integrative therapy approach draws from Responsive Feeding Therapy, the Get Permission Approach, SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Method, and Sensory Integration training. Additional training includes guiding individuals with therapies for reflux, anxiety and sleep hygiene. With her rehabilitative medical background, Tracey is knowledgeable about needs in oral motor, sensory regulation, & emotional regulation. She understands the relationship between eating, sleep and the gut.

Tracey believes strongly in the development of a therapeutic alliance between the client, family members and the OT. Educating family members about picky eating and AFRID can enact change for their loved ones. She believes in supporting families in their journey and helping clients develop a positive relationship with food that fuels their physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
